Stoke City's Peter Crouch eyes England return

Crouch eyes England return

Stoke City striker Peter Crouch is hopeful that he can claim a place in the England squad under the national side's new manager.

The Three Lions have yet to announce Fabio Capello's replacement, but Crouch's former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is the overwhelming favourite to take England to the European Championships this summer.

"I've not been in the last few squads, whoever takes over hopefully will start picking me again," said Crouch.

"But it's only what you do for your club that warrants getting in the England set-up again so I've got to play well for Stoke, score goals and hopefully that will come."

Crouch has 42 caps for his country with 22 goals under his belt but has not pulled on an England shirt in over a year.
