Adam confident of Stoke surge

Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has claimed that the team can take maximum points from their next two games against Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Potters are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table following Saturday's 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

Despite tough fixtures coming up against Newcastle and Spurs, Adam believes that Stoke can record wins in both matches.

"We have two very difficult games coming up now over Christmas against Newcastle and Tottenham, but we see no reason why we can't come out of those matches with maximum points," the Scot told the club's official website.

"Tottenham are a very good side and Newcastle are flying high, but we aren't doing too bad ourselves so we will go into both games in a positive frame of mind, looking to keep the momentum going that we have built up."

Stoke return to action on Boxing Day when they face Newcastle at St James' Park.
