Mark Hughes makes Stevenage switch

Teddy Sheringham has made former Morecambe captain Mark Hughes his first signing as Stevenage manager.

The 28-year-old defender was recently released by the Shrimps following a two-year spell at the Globe Arena.

Hughes, who started his career with Everton, made 89 appearances for Morecambe.

Stevenage suffered League Two playoff final heartbreak on the weekend as they were beaten 3-1 by Southend United after extra time.
