Tottenham 'to move for Soumare in January'

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning a January swoop for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

The 20-year-old came through the youth system at Paris Saint-Germain but left the capital giants in 2017 having failed to make the breakthrough at the club.

The France Under-21 international has already made 23 appearances for Lille during the 2019-20 campaign, including six outings in the group stages of the Champions League.

According to L'Equipe, Jose Mourinho is a firm admirer of the youngster's talents, and the newly-appointed Tottenham boss wants to secure his services during the January transfer window.

Mourinho recently insisted that his squad was not in need of mid-season arrivals despite the capital outfit sitting seventh in the Premier League table after 18 matches.

Spurs, who lost 2-0 at home to Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, are next in league action at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Boxing Day.
