Tottenham Hotspur reportedly reach a full agreement with Udinese over a move for 19-year-old left-back Destiny Udogie, who will cost the Lilywhites over €20m (£16.9m).

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached a full agreement with Udinese for the transfer of Destiny Udogie.

The 19-year-old only joined Le Zebrette permanently earlier this summer after a stellar loan spell in the 2021-22 season, as he registered five goals and three assists in 35 Serie A matches.

Udogie would predominantly feature as a left-wing back for Udinese, who paid just £3.6m to prise him away from Hellas Verona following the conclusion of his loan spell.

The Italy Under-21 international's performances caught the eye of Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici, who have raided the Serie A transfer market since arriving in North London.

Paratici is understood to have been spearheading the club's charge to sign Udogie, and according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are now close to sealing his signing.

Romano reports that Spurs will pay in excess of €20m (£16.9m) to sign the teenager, who has already agreed personal terms with the North London club with no problem.

Udogie will continue to ply his trade on loan at Udinese for the next year, after which Conte will hope to integrate him into Spurs' first-team squad for the 2023-24 season.

The former Hellas Verona youngster made just seven senior appearances for the Gialloblu before his loan switch to Udinese, where he started 29 Serie A matches and also played two games in the Coppa Italia.

Udogie will become Spurs' seventh signing of a busy summer window, following Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Djed Spence and Clement Lenglet to the club.

Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon are currently competing for the left-wing back spot at Spurs, with the latter starting and scoring in the weekend's 4-1 Premier League win over Southampton.

Sergio Reguilon will be allowed to move on following the signings of Perisic and Udogie, and Barcelona has been mooted as a potential destination for the Spaniard.

Reguilon will not be the only player heading for the Hotspur Way exit door in the coming weeks, as Villarreal edge closer to an agreement to sign Giovani Lo Celso on a permanent deal.

Unai Emery's side are also believed to have held talks over another midfield outcast in Tanguy Ndombele after Lyon did not take up their option to re-sign the Frenchman after his loan spell.

Conte is also understood to have concerns over Bryan Gil's ability to adapt to the Premier League, and Valencia - who also had him on loan last term - are said to be in talks to sign the Spanish winger.

Jack Clarke, Steven Bergwijn, Kion Etete and Cameron Carter-Vickers have already left Tottenham in the current transfer window, while Joe Rodon, Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett have all been loaned out.

Tottenham will be aiming to keep up their perfect start to the new Premier League season when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
