Tottenham Hotspur may reportedly be prepared to lower Victor Wanyama's valuation in order to find the midfielder a new club in January.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering whether to lower the asking price of midfielder Victor Wanyama.

Despite initially becoming a regular in the starting lineup at the North London outfit, the 28-year-old is now only regarded as a fringe member of the squad.

Since Jose Mourinho's arrival in October, the Kenya international has only been given one brief substitute outing, which came in the Champions League dead rubber at Bayern Munich.

Given their desire to get Wanyama off the wage bill, the Evening Standard claims that Spurs may be willing to accept lower than £9m for the player.

The report says that no clubs have lodged a bid during January, leading to the Premier League side accepting that they may have to re-think their strategy regarding a departure.

Wanyama still has just under 18 months remaining on his contract.
