Tottenham Hotspur target Alexandre Pato keen for Sao Paulo stay

Brazil striker Alexandre Pato says that he wants to stay in South America amid speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Alexandre Pato has revealed that he wants to stay at Sao Paulo but has admitted that he does not know what the future holds.

The 25-year-old - on loan at the Brazilian side from Corinthians - has been linked with a £7m switch to White Hart Lane before Tuesday's deadline day.

However, the former AC Milan starlet says that he wants to stay at Sao Paulo but concedes that the decision is not up to him.

"I don't know what's going to happen," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "I don't know if it was my last game for Sao Paulo. I will talk with my agent.

"I want to stay but it does not depend on me. It would not be good to finish like this. I'll sit down and talk to see what's going to happen."

Spurs await their first Premier League win of the season after drawing three and losing one of their four games thus far.
