Tottenham Hotspur 'close' to agreeing deal to sign Kevin Wimmer

Spurs snap up Wimmer?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of announcing a deal to sign FC Koln central defender Kevin Wimmer.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane for the past six months, and could become Mauricio Pochettino's first summer signing.

The People understands that the Austrian international will officially become a Spurs player on June 1, and the North Londoners will pay in the region of £4.25m.

The paper says that Pochettino wanted to take Wimmer away on the club's end-of-season tour to Asia and Australia, but he will have to wait until pre-season to get to grips with his new defender.

Wimmer has played 31 times for FC Koln this season.
