Report: Spurs to extend Mason contract

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made plans to offer Ryan Mason an improved contract in the near future.

The 23-year-old has become a regular in Mauricio Pochettino's side since making his full Premier League debut in September, and his progress is likely to result in him extending his current deal.

Despite still having two years left to run on his contract, a clause in Mason's deal means that Spurs can extend it for another year, according to the Evening Standard.

The report claims that Mason, who graduated from Tottenham's youth academy, can expect to see receive a large pay rise as recognition for his progress this season.

Mason had made just four competitive appearances for Spurs before the start of this season.
