Report: Milan planning cut-price Kaboul swoop

AC Milan reportedly hope to cash in on Tottenham Hotspur's doubts over Younes Kaboul's fitness by lodging a January bid for the injury-plagued defender.

The 27-year-old missed the entirety of last season with knee ligament damage and has only been used sparingly this term as Spurs look to ease him back to 100%.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas is said to be a big fan of Kaboul and has made him his vice-captain, but the France international's contract expires at the end of the season and Tottenham are reported to be waiting for him to prove his fitness before offering him an extension.

According to Italian publication Calciomercato, Milan will explore this uncertainty by trying to bring Kaboul to the San Siro on the cheap when the transfer window reopens in January.

They have already signed centre-back Adil Rami on loan from Valencia and now apparently want to bolster their defence further by partnering him with his French compatriot.
