Report: Leverkusen eye Soldado

Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly interested in signing misfiring Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado this month.

The Spaniard has endured a torrid 18 months at White Hart Lane following a then-club record £26m move from Valencia, netting just seven Premier League goals in total.

However, the 29-year-old could be Germany-bound as Leverkusen identify him as the man to replace want-away striker Josip Drmic, according to The Mirror.

Soldado's goalscoring woes were compounded last week after missing an open goal from point-blank range in the 4-2 win over Burnley.

The Spain international, who netted 59 times in 101 La Liga appearances for Valencia, is contracted to the North London club until 2017.
