Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly still Real Madrid's number one candidate to replace Zinedine Zidane.

Real Madrid reportedly continue to view Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino as their number one candidate to replace Zinedine Zidane.

The Los Blancos boss, despite his side being second in La Liga, is under pressure following his side's 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week.

Numerous reports have stated that former Real boss Jose Mourinho, currently out of work since being sacked by Manchester United last year, was being lined up as Zidane's replacement.

According to The Mirror, however, Pochettino continues to be the club's ideal candidate to replace Zidane should he leave the club.

The Argentine signed a long-term contract at Tottenham last year which sees him earn around £8.5m a year.

Following Tottenham's remarkable run to the Champions League final last season, however, Pochettino did admit that he might have left the club had he beaten Liverpool in the final.
