The agent of Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen has revealed that his client's proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur is nearing completion.
The Belgian international revealed last week that he had opted to join Spurs ahead of a number of European clubs.
Despite the reported reluctance of Spurs to meet Ajax's asking price for the 25-year-old, agent Mustapha Nakhli believes that the centre-back will be a Tottenham player by the end of the week.
"I hope it will be this week. I think it will. We are talking to Tottenham."
Vertonghen joined Ajax in 2006.
