How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Brighton

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou could welcome his final two international representatives back to Premier League action for Saturday's visit of Brighton & Hove Albion to North London.

Both Son Heung-min and Yves Bissouma have completed their respective Asian Cup and Africa Cup of Nations commitments, and both are in contention to come into the first XI for the clash with the Seagulls.

Bissouma would no doubt love to show his old club what they are missing too, but Postecoglou may err on the side of caution with the ex-Brighton man, who contracted malaria before the AFCON.

In addition, Ryan Sessegnon (thigh) and Manor Solomon (knee) both remain out of contention for the hosts, and it remains to be seen if Giovani Lo Celso's thigh injury heals in time for the Argentine to be involved.

Tottenham's international and fitness uncertainties will have no effect on Postecoglou's backline, as Destiny Udogie, Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero form Guglielmo Vicario's four-man wall once again.

Rodrigo Bentancur did not put in his finest Spurs performance against Everton last time out, so Pape Sarr could force his way back into the XI alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with Bissouma likely to be named on the bench.

In contrast, Son is reportedly aiming to come straight back into contention for a start on Saturday, and the Lilywhites captain will surely displace Timo Werner if given the green light to line up on the left.

A recall could also be in order for Dejan Kulusevski over Brennan Johnson, but James Maddison and Richarlison - whose brace against Everton made it nine goals from his last eight Premier League fixtures - are shoo-ins.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Hojbjerg; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Richarlison
