Tim Sherwood: 'My future as Tottenham Hotspur boss is unclear'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood admits that his future at the club is in the balance.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has admitted that he could be at risk of losing his job.

Spurs were thrashed 4-0 by Chelsea on Saturday, a result that caused Sherwood to claim that his players lack character.

Amid reports that chairman Daniel Levy was absent from the match, Sherwood concedes that his future is in the balance.

However, he is against the idea of being a number two behind a potential new manager, although he admits that a technical director position does appeal to him.

"The silence is deafening isn't it? It's up to Daniel. I didn't know if he was here or not. Maybe he was travelling, I don't know," Sherwood is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"It's up to the club to make that decision. One thing I guarantee people is that no one cares more than me.

"I never want to be a number two. I'd be no good as a number two. But I do think there is a place for a technical director."

Sherwood has won nine of his 17 matches in charge.
