Tottenham Hotspur have come from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Everton in the Premier League at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

The visitors looked the sharper of the two sides, who were both in Europa League action on Thursday evening, in the opening 10 minutes, but Romelu Lukaku missed a chance to open the scoring when Hugo Lloris kept his effort out.
Everton did take the lead shortly after though when Kevin Mirallas picked the ball up just outside the box after the hosts had cleared a Leighton Baines free kick, leaving the midfielder to curl the ball into the top corner from 20 yards out.

The Toffees' lead did not last long though, as Harry Kane tested Tim Howard with a low strike down the other end, but the keeper's save set up Christian Eriksen for the equaliser.
Eriksen could have added a second for Spurs when Kane picked him out with a through-ball on the edge of the box, but his shot was deflected wide, while Roberto Soldado failed to get a shot away shortly before the break.
The striker was on target in first-half stoppage time though, slotting the ball beyond Howard after Kane had won the ball back off Gareth Barry in midfield, giving Spurs the lead.

Soldado was on the attack again shortly after the break as he looked for his second of the afternoon, but Seamus Coleman made sure that he did not meet a high ball into the box.
The hosts continued to put Everton under pressure as they tried to increase their advantage, but Federico Fazio missed a chance at the near corner following an Eriksen cross, while Ryan Mason fired over from 20 yards out.
Roberto Martinez's side started to see more of the ball after the hour mark, but Lukaku was flagged offside while trying to find a way forward, and Ross Barkley could only fire his effort straight at Lloris.
Barkley was on the move again a few minutes later, sending a through-ball in for Coleman, but he slightly over-hit it, giving Lloris enough time to come out and make the clearance.

Lukaku found himself in a strong position inside the last 10 minutes when he lost his marker on the edge of the box, but his finishing touch was lacking as his curling shot failed to trouble Lloris.
Erik Lamela came off the bench as Spurs tried to find a late goal to put the game beyond doubt, but Phil Jagielka stopped him getting on the end of a through-ball from Paulinho.
The visitors thought that they should have had a penalty in the dying seconds, claiming a handball against Fazio while he was defending a corner, but referee Michael Oliver waved play on.
Barkley tried to put Lloris under pressure in stoppage time with a free kick, but the keeper came off his line to comfortably claim it, allowing Spurs to keep possession for the remainder of the match and see out the victory.
Kane also thought that he should have had a spot kick for Spurs when Muhamed Besic tangled with him in the box late on, but that was also rejected by the official.
The result moves Spurs up to seventh in the table ahead of their match against Chelsea in midweek, while Everton sit 10th.
