Christian Eriksen wins it late for Tottenham Hotspur

Christian Eriksen scores late on to help Tottenham Hotspur secure a dramatic 1-2 victory against Hull City.

Tottenham Hotspur have secured a dramatic 2-1 victory against 10-man Hull City this afternoon after Christian Eriksen scored a winner in the dying moments of the match.

Jake Livermore gave the Tigers the lead with a strike from distance before Gaston Ramirez saw red following an altercation with Jan Vertonghen.

Harry Kane equalised for Spurs before Eriksen sealed the points for the away side with a drive from outside the box.

Both sides came out in determined fashion and fans at the KC Stadium were treated to a fairly high-tempo start to the match, with both sides fighting for control in the middle of the park.

The frantic opening exchanges culminated in an early goal as former Spurs player Livermore fired in from 20 yards to give Hull the lead.

It was the home side's first goal in over five hours of football and Steve Bruce would have been pleased with how threatening his team looked on the counter.

Spurs, on the other hand, looked second best throughout the half and really should have gone further behind through Robbie Brady, but Hugo Lloris got down low to push the midfielder's effort away from goal.

Eriksen tried to make things happen for Spurs in the final third, but his shot deflected wide. From the resulting corner, Roberto Soldado nodded a poor header off target.

Erik Lamela then hit a stinging drive from 25 yards out as Spurs tried to capitalise on their superior possession before the break.

A dramatic start to the second half saw Ramirez controversially sent off after he kicked out at Vertonghen.

The decision changed the course of the game and Spurs used their man advantage to crank up the pressure on their opponents.

A goal was coming, and Kane was the one to get it as he tapped in the rebound from Eriksen's shot, which had hit the post.

From then on, it looked like only a matter of time before Spurs took the lead as Soldado and Kane missed good opportunities.

Some impressive rearguard action from Hull looked to have rescued them a point, but Eriksen scored late on to win the game for Spurs in extraordinary style.
