Tottenham Hotspur reportedly identify Fulham boss Marco Silva as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte.

Tottenham Hotspur may reportedly move for Fulham boss Marco Silva if Antonio Conte departs the club in the summer.

Ever since his arrival in North London, it has been well-documented that Conte only possesses a contract until the end of 2023-24.

While Spurs have always been open to extending those terms, that has seemingly changed in recent weeks with the club exiting the FA Cup and Champions League.

On the back of losing out to AC Milan in Europe, it was soon claimed that it was highly likely that Conte would not stay at Spurs beyond the conclusion of the current campaign.

Although the 53-year-old is expected to remain in the dugout for the rest of this season's Premier League, a wide array of alternatives are allegedly being considered.

The likes of former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel, ex-Spain manager Luis Enrique, Brentford boss Thomas Frank and Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper have all been linked with a switch to Spurs.

According to The Sun, however, Silva is high up on Spurs' wishlist on the back of his work at city rivals Fulham.

After getting Fulham promoted from the Championship in 2021-22, Silva is now leading a surprise charge for European qualification having effectively already ensured that relegation will not be an issue.

Even after a two-match losing streak, the Cottagers occupy eighth position in the Premier League table, nine points adrift of fourth-placed Spurs.

Fulham are realistically looking at the Europa League as a best-case scenario, yet that would be regarded as one of the most notable achievements of the season should Silva's side end the campaign strongly.

One factor that could play into Spurs' favour is Silva having under 16 months remaining on his existing terms at the West London side.

Nevertheless, the Portuguese has built a talented squad at Fulham and would need convincing to depart that project, even if a bigger club came calling.

The 45-year-old is already in his seventh job as a manager, his current total of 82 matches being the second-longest that he has lasted at one club.
