Danny Rose: 'I welcome competition for my place'

Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose insists that he would welcome the club signing another left-back before the end of the transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose believes that he will develop his game should the club sign another left-back before the end of the transfer window.

Spurs have been linked with Fabio Coentrao, who could arrive at White Hart Lane should Gareth Bale complete a move to Real Madrid, but Rose is adamant that he would like to see new faces move to the club.

The 23-year-old told ITV Sport: "You find a lot about yourself when you have got competition in the squad, so I will welcome any new faces.

"It won't change how I train every day and how I play if given the chance.

"It will be interesting if Tottenham do bring in another left-back. Then I will just have to assess that when it happens, but I welcome any new players."

The England Under-21 international has impressed for Spurs in their opening two matches of the season after returning from a loan spell at Sunderland last season.
