Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino: Harry Kane was "sad" about FA tweet

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says that Harry Kane was "very sad" about a Football Association tweet which appeared to mock his display in the FA Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Harry Kane was unhappy with a tweet which came from the Football Association's official account last weekend.

After United had recorded a 2-1 victory over Spurs in the FA Cup semi-finals, a post on social media suggested that Kane had spent the game "in the pocket" of United defender Chris Smalling.

Pochettino has described the incident as "embarrassing", but suggests that Kane will be able to move on from the criticism during the closing weeks of the season.

At a press conference, the 46-year-old told reporters: "Harry was very sad of course, but he's strong in his mind. He moves on and of course we're going to help him and we're helping him to move on about that situation.

"It was a mistake and he needs to move on quick and not think about what happened in the next few days or the next week."

The FA has since apologised for what occurred last weekend.
