Pochettino backs Kane to break 30-goal barrier

Mauricio Pochettino has backed Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to improve on his 30-goal haul next season.

Kane, 21, became the first Spurs player since Gary Lineker to reach those figures in a campaign, and Pochettino says that the youngster, who flies to the Czech Republic in the coming weeks for England's Under-21 European Championship campaign, can emulate himself next term.

"I think Harry's challenge for next season is to try to score the same number of goals again – or more. We need to push him to do that," he told The Mirror.

"He deserves this moment he is in. Now he goes to the Under-21 Euros and I hope he gets the trophy because I think it would be good for him.

"After that he can start his holidays, come back, and try to do it all again."

Kane netted 20 of those goals in the Premier League, second only to Sergio Aguero, who has 25.
