Mauricio Pochettino: 'Emmanuel Adebayor chooses to train with Under-21s'

Mauricio Pochettino says that Emmanuel Adebayor chooses to train with the Under-21s despite being allowed to train with the first team.

Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that Emmanuel Adebayor has chosen to train with the club's Under-21 squad, despite being allowed to train with the first team.

The striker has been told that he has no future at Tottenham Hotspur, after a move to West Ham United fell through on deadline day.

"I was clear with him. The decision was very clear. To retract it now would not be right. It is the best decision for the club," Pochettino told reporters.

"It's not his fault, he has a contract and Tottenham can decide whatever they want.

"We gave him the opportunity to train with the first team at different times. But he decided to train with the Under-21s. Always we give him the same opportunity to train and treat him the same as any other player."

Adebayor made just 10 appearances for Spurs last season and is yet to make an appearance this season.
