Joe Lewis puts Tottenham Hotspur up for sale?

Joe Lewis reportedly places a £1bn price tag on Tottenham Hotspur as he prepares to sell the club.

Joe Lewis is reportedly looking to sell Tottenham Hotspur after placing a £1bn price tag on the club.

The Spurs owner paid £22m to invest in the club back in 2001, but is now actively looking for buyers after becoming increasingly burdened by the costs of the new stadium plans, which is said to run towards the £400m mark.

According to The Mirror, the 77-year-old has yet to receive any offers for the club he purchased 13 years ago, although it is hoped that a finish inside the top four this season will see potential suitors come to the table.

Meanwhile, Spurs announced on Wednesday that the completion of their new stadium is likely to be delayed.
