Jurgen Klinsmann hoping for Christian Eriksen stay at Tottenham Hotspur

Former Spurs striker Jurgen Klinsmann reveals that he is eager to see Christian Eriksen remain at the club "for a long time".

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Jurgen Klinsmann has urged Christian Eriksen to stay at the club "for a long time".

The Danish international, who joined Spurs from Ajax in 2013, has recently been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite reported interest from elsewhere, Klinsmann is hopeful that the 23-year-old midfielder will remain at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future.

"I hope he stays for a long time at Spurs," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "It's a very competitive squad so there's no time for him to relax as someone will jump in and take his spot. I'm curious to see him for many more years at Tottenham.

"He is an exceptional talent and that's why he's at Tottenham. He's tremendously talented and seeing some of his goals this season and how he has been the difference in some of the games shows that he can turn it on."

USA coach Klinsmann was speaking ahead of his team's friendly against Denmark in Aarhus tonight.
