Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola unfazed by end of 100% win record

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says that he is unfazed by Celtic ending the team's winning run as they prepare to face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that it was always "impossible" for his team to continue their winning record after they were stopped in their tracks by Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Spaniard, who took over the North-West outfit in the summer following a three-year spell at Bayern Munich, had the perfect start to his tenure by guiding the team to 10 straight victories in all competitions.

In that run, City sealed a 2-1 win over arch rivals Manchester United, who had a managerial change of their own in the summer when Jose Mourinho replaced Louis van Gaal at the helm of Old Trafford.

City have won their last six Premier League games on the trot, while they also overcame Swansea City in the third round of the EFL Cup and defeated Steaua Bucuresti and Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.

Guardiola's men hunted for their 11th consecutive win when they travelled to Parkhead to take on Scottish giants Celtic in Europe, but they were held to a 3-3 draw.

The two-time Premier League champions came from behind three times to gain a point as Fernandinho and Nolito got on the scoresheet, while Raheem Sterling netted twice, but one was registered as an own goal.

After the match, when asked about the winning run coming to an end, Guardiola told reporters: "I didn't speak about the record with my players. It was not necessary to make - I'm pretty sure they know we are not going to win all the games, not even the best team in the world can do that. It's impossible."

Attention now switches to the weekend's league action, and City face a big test against Tottenham Hotspur, who are also unbeaten in the top flight so far this season.

The Citizens may have been halted by Celtic, but they are backed by Bet365 and AllYouBet to get back to winning ways at White Hart Lane this Sunday.

Despite Spurs defeating City 4-1 and 2-1 in the league last season, the North-West club are slight favourites to take home all three points this weekend.

City have scored 18 league goals so far in the campaign, and have netted no fewer than two in a game.
