Brad Friedel: 'I won't give up playing until my body tells me to stop'

Friedel: 'I'm not ready to retire'

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel has insisted that he will continue playing until his body tells him to give up.

The 42-year-old has slipped behind Hugo Lloris in the ranks at White Hart Lane, but the American has claimed that he will continue to fight for his place.

"I'm going to play until my body says I can't do it anymore or the club doesn't want me," Friedel told Goal.com.

"At 42 years of age, the team comes first. Me and Hugo have a very good relationship. He's a really nice guy and a really good goalkeeper."

Friedel is currently the oldest player competing in the Premier League.
