Christian Eriksen: 'Tottenham Hotspur can finish in top four'

Christian Eriksen suggests that Tottenham Hotspur have a settled team in place that can challenge for a top-four spot in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has suggested that the club now has a squad in place that can challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

The Denmark international scored two free kicks as Mauricio Pochettino's side earned a 2-2 draw at Swansea City on Sunday, which leaves them two points adrift of fourth place going into the international break.

Eriksen has claimed that, after a number of arrivals and departures in playing staff over the past two years, Spurs finally have the right balance in the team.

"Some new lads have come in but everyone has been here for a while and everyone knows what they have to do, what the manager says and what the other players think," he told the London Evening Standard.

"So it's a good mix and the more games we get, the more we will know each other. You're always going to buy and sell players but there were a lot of new players when I joined. I don't know how it was before me but I know that when I came here the players needed to learn quickly.

"Now we've had the time to build something and I think you can see we know what we're doing. Hopefully we'll continue like that."

Spurs return to league action at home to Liverpool on October 17.
