Moussa Dembele: 'Tottenham Hotspur must beat smaller teams'

Moussa Dembele insists that Tottenham Hotspur must beat the "smaller" teams following Sunday's surprise defeat to West Ham United.

Moussa Dembele has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur must beat the "smaller" teams if they are to make progress in the Premier League.

Spurs were stunned 3-0 by West Ham United on Sunday as they slumped to their first home defeat of the season.

"If we want to be there with the top four, we need to win these games," Sky Sports News quotes the Belgian as saying.

"You see the top teams, if they want to be champions, they have to win these smaller games and you can see it's the difference with the guys who become champions, they win these smaller games.

"It's easier to play against the top teams for the motivation but if we want to be a top team, we need to be concentrated for these kind of games."

Sunday's defeat has left Tottenham in sixth place in the Premier League table.
