Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas confirms that Gareth Bale will play a part in this Saturday's clash against Manchester City following a two-week absence.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that Gareth Bale will be fit to feature in this weekend's clash against Manchester City.

The Wales international has been absent for the last two weeks with an ankle injury, which the prolific winger picked up during Spurs' 2-2 draw with Basel in the Europa League.

"I am pretty confident [Bale will be fit]," Villas-Boas said in a press conference. "He's made good progress from the beginning of the week to be training with the team, so I think he will definitely be up for selection."

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old has been nominated for both the PFA and Young Player of the year awards.
