Ossie Ardiles: Gareth Bale is a "special" player

Tottenham Hotspur legend Ossie Ardiles believes that Gareth Bale can become as good as former Spurs greats Jimmy Greaves and Glenn Hoddle.

The Welshman has been in excellent form of late as he put in a match-winning performance to help his side come from behind to beat West Ham United on Monday.

"Gareth Bale is very, very special," Ardiles told The Sun.

"Once in a while, you have somebody who comes along who is very special. Somebody like Jimmy Greaves, Pat Jennings or Glenn Hoddle. He is that special right now — and he's only going to get better."

Tottenham take on Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday.
