Evening all and thanks for joining us as we bring you live Premier League coverage of Tottenham Hotspurs clash with Manchester City at Wembley Stadium. Pep Guardiola's charges are looking to bounce back from three straight defeats in all competitions as they aim to move closer to clinching the league title this term. As for Spurs, the hosts are closing in on Champions League qualification and will surely be pretty much there should they win here on home soil.

The hosts are close to full strength here, although Danny Rose misses out at left back through injury and is replaced by Ben Davies. Jan Vertonghen and Davidson Sanchez are the centre-back pairing while Kieran Trippier takes the place of Serge Aurier at right-back.

In midfield Eric Dier comes in to replace Victor Wanyama and starts as part of a holding pair alongside Mousa Dembele. Going forward, Spurs lead with a creative three made up from Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela, leaving Harry Kane to lead the line as a sole striker.

For City, the key piece of news is that Vincent Kompany returns at the back as he partners Aymeric Laporte in the centre. Kyle Walker takes on his old club at right-back, while Fabian Delph is over on the left side tonight.

Fernandinho is missing through suspension, allowing Ilkay Gundogan to sit in the middle with David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne. City's forward three is made up from Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling.

City travel to Wembley off the back of three straight defeats that have slightly changed the complexion of their remarkable campaign. Two losses to Liverpool have dumped them out of the Champions League, while Manchester United picked up a 3-2 comeback win to deny their city rivals an early title last weekend.

City have only lost back-to-back league games just once before under Guardiola. Those defeats came when facing Chelsea and Leicester in the winter of 2016.

Recent results might have taken the gloss off, but City require just 12 points from their remaining six games to set a new record for Premier League points. At the moment, that records stands at 95 and was set by Chelsea during the 2004-05 campaign.

The measure of City's dominance this term in the league is also showcased by the fact that City could now also win 28 top-flight matches in a single season for only the second time in the club's history.

Guardiola's side could still claim the league this weekend, but they would require a victory here while also counting on Manchester United losing to bottom-placed West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

City do not have the best of records against Spurs in recent years, although the club undefeated in 18 of their last 19 away games in the top flight and been winning at both half time and full time in their previous three away games in the league, putting them in good stead tonight.

Sergio Aguero will be frustrated at having been ruled out through injury. The frontman has 199 goals for the Citizens and also has an impressive record against Spurs. Aguero has scored 10 Premier League goals against Tottenham, although he has not bagged in his previous five outings against the Lillywhites. Time for Jesus to shine again, maybe...

As for Spurs, the home team come into the contest unbeaten in 14 league games having won 11 and drawn three. Tottenham last had a longer unbeaten run way back in 1967 when they went undefeated across an impressive 20 fixtures.

An exit on the continent against Juventus and City's standout form have left the FA Cup as the only remaining chance of a trophy for Spurs, but they will want to get a Champions League qualification spot wrapped up as quickly as they can in the league too.

Kane will be hoping to improve his standout goals tally this season as he continues to battle it out with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah. Kane has 25 goals this season, while Salah has bagged 29 so far in the Premier League. Kane is bidding to land his third straight Golden Boot award in the top flight.

Should Spurs win at home tonight, they would become only the eighth team to win 900 top-flight home matches.

Eriksen will be one to watch here. The playmaker has scored in three consecutive games in all competitions for Spurs for the first time, netting five goals in total. He comes into the contest as one of the form players in these two sides.

The club's interests might lie slightly elsewhere with the looming FA Cup battle against Manchester United, but Spurs do still have some work to do in the league in order to guarantee themselves a Champions League qualification spot, especially with Chelsea just about keeping their faint hopes alive with a win earlier today. Prior to this game, Antonio Conte's men are seven points behind in fifth.

Tottenham's last loss in the league actually game against City back in December after losing 4-1 at the Etihad. That defeat has since spurred Tottenham onto this memorable unbeaten run.

Coming up against City on home soil has proven beneficial for Pochettino of late. Spurs have picked up victories in their last two home fixtures with City. Tottenham also have lost just one of their last five Premier League meetings with the Sky Blues.

Added to that, this Spurs run has seen them produce six victories on the bounce in recent weeks - all but propelling them into the Champions League again next term. Achieving that would be crucial if Pochettino plans to keep hold of his key players during what is expected to be a testing summer with some of Europe's giants circling in the transfer window.

Across their last six meetings, Spurs have won three, drawn one and lost two against the Citizens. Pochettino's men have won the last two on the bounce at home too.

City are undefeated against Spurs in three games, though, drawing 2-2 at the Etihad last season, before also drawing in a friendly during the summer and beating Spurs 4-1 in Manchester earlier this campaign.

PREDICTION! We are not too far from kickoff now and it's time to map out how this contest might unfold. City will be itching to find a way out of a poor run of form and they will be coming up against a Spurs side not afraid to get at them. Recent contests have tended to offer up goals for the neutrals and this game could be much the same. City are surely very close to claiming the title but Spurs will be hard to beat. I'm backing a 2-2 draw at Wembley tonight.

Going into the game, Spurs boss Pochettino had this to say to reporters ahead of the contest: "It is not about one result that we are going to show that we are ready or not ready [to challenge for the title]. We have already shown we are ready to compete. We need to be consistent during the whole season and be the best team like Manchester City are doing today. We need to show ourselves that we can compete."

As for Pep, he has insisted that his side will get straight back up on their feet after falling out of the Champions League: "We did a better season than last season. We will be back and try to be stronger next season. This club is absolutely amazing."

The players are now gather in the tunnel as we await the start of the game. City need just six points to wrap up the title on their own terms. They could win this weekend with a victory here and somehow United losing to the Baggies at Old Trafford tomorrow.

What a night here for Kazaiah Sterling who had to rush to the stadium tonight to take Fernando Llorente's on the bench, with the Spanish forward having to miss out because of personal reasons.

City look to stretch the play early on as the ball is fed out to Sane on the left, but he cannot get the better of Trippier who stands tall to make a strong tackle.

OFF THE POST! This young man is some player already... Sterling moves down the right and chips towards the back post for Sane. The winger waits for the ball to drop and volleys first time, leaving the shot to cannon straight back off the post with Lloris left stranded.

City have certainly settled quicker early on and they are moving the ball about with real swagger in these opening moments. Spurs just haven't got going as yet...

Spurs get the first chance to spread the play and the ball is switched to Alli on the edge of the box. City cover quickly though and are able to scramble away for a corner, which they also deal with at the near post.

This isn't very Spurs-like to be honest. City are being given so much room in the middle and between the lines. Silva has all the time in the world as he shifts over to De Bruyne, leavening the midfielder to drive wide of the target from range.

Another City attack comes down the right channel and visitors win a cheap corner. Tottenham clear quickly though and set up a break with Eriksen, although Ederson is very quickly off his line to spring the entirety of the City half and put his laces through it. Great goalkeeping...

Silva turns into space in the middle of the pitch and looks to set Sterling away on a one-on-one chase with Vertonghen, but the Belgium international times his interception perfectly instead of having to get into a foot race.

Dier and Dembele are getting slightly overrun at the moment and are arguably finding things difficult. Eriksen is just having to shift back slightly to form a midfield three with City in control.

Spurs work possession nicely on the edge of the area between Alli and Eriksen, who then feeds the ball into the feet of Kane. The striker tries to get it out of his feet to shoot, although Kompany is quickly in to make a well-timed challenge.

Beautiful stuff from City as the visitors simply glide through the middle before Silva sprays the ball into the path of Sane. The German cuts the ball back across the box for Sterling, who is just about put off by some pressure from a retreating Dembele.

City have the goal that their dominance perhaps deserves, although it's poor defending from Spurs. Kompany plays a long ball forward into a fairly simple channel. Sanchez is far too slack with his monitoring of Jesus, who runs beyond the defender to break onto the ball in behind. The centre-back tracks back, but he cannot make the required channel as Jesus is left to finish under the body of Lloris.

Well, well, well... Sterling moves beyond the defence again after more sloppy defending. Lloris rushes off his line to slide the winger and he actually makes contact with the City player just outside of the area, although referee Jonathan Moss points to the spot. Gundogan makes no mistake with the penalty, sending the keeper the wrong way to convert to his right.

OUCH! There's an incident bubbling away now as Davies plants one of the worst one-footed tackles on Kompany in a while. The left-back is given a yellow when it should be a clear red. He's very lucky to still be on the pitch. Kompany is absolutely furious...

Spurs have been so poor in this first half. Again the hosts are defending far too high and Sane is left to cruise through into the box. It takes a good sliding challenge from Sanchez to prevent the German's shot from testing Lloris down low.

CLOSE! Spurs get a rare chance to test Ederson, this time as the ball is chipped into Lamela, who brings it down and has a go from range on the edge of the area. His attempt flies wide of the target and Kane is furious with his teammate having not been played in behind.

SAVE! Spurs are all over the shop and Silva is left free once more on the edge of the home box. The playmaker feeds Sane, who soon sends it back. A kind deflection gives Silva the chance to shoot from range and he draws a decent save from a diving Lloris.

Spurs will know that they are still in this at two behind, but anymore and it is likely a write-off. United proved that City can be got at even when they are in front, although Pochettino's charges need to improve quickly here.

Wembley finally has something to applaud as Spurs move the ball nicely on the edge of the City area and the ball is soon moved beyond into the path of Lamela. The playmaker goes down far too easily under pressure from Kompany and he is quickly back up on his feet before he can be booked for diving.

This half seems strangely familiar to the Manchester derby last weekend, Spurs have been equally as bad as United in that first half too. The home side can only get better after the interval, surely?

Davies gives away another poor free kick and it presents Sane with the chance to have a go from around 25 yards out. The winger sets himself from the free kick, but bends a tame effort well over the crossbar without testing Lloris.

YELLOW CARD! A booking for De Bruyne now as he lunges in on Vertonghen...

Here we go... Out of nowhere Spurs have a route back into the game. Where has this come from? Kane finds room on the edge of the box and instead of shooting, prods beyond the last man to find the run of Eriksen. The Dane then flicks an effort towards goal, which cannons into the sliding challenge of Laporte before hitting the Spurs man again and spinning into the net beyond Ederson. Lucky, but what a game we have on our hands now...

The goal could prove a real fillip for Pochettino's men, who have been nothing short of awful in this first half. They have a lifeline now. What must Guardiola be thinking?

YELLOW CARD! Jesus goes into the book trying to stop Spurs taking a quick free kick.

Spurs are lifting the ball forward now in a bid to get at City who are a little stunned. The visitors respond with Sane down the left, leaving Trippier to make a vital challenge just inside the area.

What a first half at Wembley! City have been absolutely dominant in this game, while Spurs have been all at sea for the majority of proceedings. The away side have a deserved lead, but Tottenham should be nowhere near them after a poor first-half showing.

Quite how Spurs are still in this is beyond me... City were pulling them to pieces during that opening 45 minutes with both Dier and Dembele completely overrun in the middle. Pochettino might have to change something tactically at the break, although that lucky goal has certainly given Spurs something to play for now.

As for City, they were fortunate to get the penalty, but the rest of their play has been outstanding, especially with the movement of Silva and penetration of Sane.

Are we going to see the United debacle all over again? Spurs cannot be much worse than they were in the first half. Surely they will not give City such an easy time of the second period...

SECOND HALF! Here we go then, we are back underway at Wembley. What a potentially exciting second half we have on our hands now...

CLOSE! Spurs win a free kick on the right channel and Eriksen whips a testing ball into the middle, where Ederson is left to climb above bodies and punch clear.

Tottenham's shape is already improved in these early moments, with some of the space between midfield and defence looking more restricted.

Spurs are playing with a higher tempo too and it is allowing them to nip in and steal possession back quicker than in the first half. City look a little ruffled early in this second period.

Vertonghen steps out from the back to make a strong challenge and move forward at pace. The centre-back tries to feed Lamela beyond the line, although he overhits his final ball and Ederson gobbles up possession.

City are being forced to approach proceedings a little differently now with Spurs holding the ball inside the visiting half. Davies turns in a ball into the middle, where Laporte is finally able to scamper the ball away under pressure from Kane.

We might have a slight stoppage here as Jesus finds himself on the deck after being beaten in the air by Sanchez.

Lamela appears to have peeled off his man to receive a cross field ball from Kane allowing him to break in behind, although the linesman soon has his flag up for offside. That was tight!

City respond by taking the gas off slightly as they aim to manoeuvre Tottenham around inside their own half. Spurs come back with more impressive pressing work and Sanchez is able to hoof clear.

CHANCE! Sanchez steps up far too late again and he is caught out by Jesus, who finds himself baring down on goal. The defender is able to get back and apply pressure, causing the striker to skew wide.

SUBSTITUTIONS: A change for each side then as Lamela is replaced by Son. For City, Sane comes off for Otamendi.

CHANCE! Another big one for City as Silva breaks into space down the left channel. The playmaker holds his pass for a fraction to cut the ball back for Sterling in the middle, although his first touch is poor and his eventual shot is blocked on its way to Lloris.

YELLOW CARD! De Bruyne drives at the Spurs box and is brought down cynically by Dembele, who goes into the book.

The playmaker shapes to shoot from the set piece from all of 30 yards out, although De Bruyne cannot get his shot beyond the wall as the Spurs players rise and block the shot.

CHANCE! Poor Sterling... Lloris can only palm away a cross into the path of the youngster, who twists and turns waiting for his right moment to shoot. The winger takes far too long and his eventual effort is blocked in front of an open goal.

From the resulting corner, Lloris is forced to make a decent stop from the initial shot, although Sterling follows up from close range to smash home and potentially win this game for the visitors.

SUBSTITUTION: Spurs make another change despite the killer blow. Lucas Moura comes in place of Dembele.

CHANCE! It could and should be a second for Sterling really, as he is picked out by Silva's forward ball. Sanchez races back excellently, though, sliding in to divert the winger's shot away from goal.

YELLOW CARD! Yet another booking in this industrious affair. Delph goes into the book after a late sliding challenge on Moura.

The goal has knocked the stuffing out of Spurs whose energy has dipped quite dramatically. Overall the hosts have been off the pace and this improved second half has come a little too late.

City are quite happy to keep the ball now and Guardiola will be pleased with his side's rotation in possession. The visitors are just taking the sting out of the contest going into the final 10 minutes.

SUBSTITUTION: A final change for Spurs then as Alli is brought off in place of Moussa Sissoko.

Sissoko's first involvement sees the Spurs man find space on the right side of the box, but Otamendi is quick on the danger and clears when the cross comes into the middle.

The ball falls kindly to Eriksen just inside the box and after some quick shuffling of the feet he tests Ederson down low, although the keeper is equal to the tame effort.

SUBSTITUTION: Yaya Toure makes an introduction - hence the Poznan celebrations in the stands. He takes the place of De Bruyen as Pep looks to shut this game down.

We are going to have four minutes of additional time at Wembley.

Pretty emphatic in the end from City, who at times were back to their blistering best, especially during the first half of this encounter. The Sky Blues are now just three points away from Premier League glory. They might even pinch it tomorrow if Manchester United are beaten by West Brom in Manchester.
