Tottenham team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Tottenham injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit when they take on Chelsea in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

Spurs lost by two clear goals at Stamford Bridge in the first leg last week and therefore have a mountain to climb if they are to reach the final of the competition against Liverpool or Arsenal.

Antonio Conte's side will enter this match off the back of a 3-1 home victory over Morecambe in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with the European Cup holders.

Cristian Romero is making great strides in his recovery from a serious thigh injury, but the Argentine defender will not be back in action against Chelsea.

Steven Bergwijn

Steven Bergwijn, who continues to be linked with a January exit, picked up a calf problem during the Boxing Day win over Crystal Palace and will again miss out here.

Son Heung-min

Status: Out Type of injury: Leg Possible return date: Unknown

Son Heung-min is facing a spell on the sidelines with a leg injury, and the attacker is unlikely to be available for selection until the early stages of February.

Eric Dier missed out against Morecambe on Sunday through injury, and it is unclear when the central defender will be available to return for Spurs.
