How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Burnley

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up in Sunday's Premier League clash with Burnley.

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome Burnley to the English capital on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs booked their spot in the last-16 stage of the Europa League courtesy of a 4-0 victory over Wolfsberger in the second leg of their last-32 clash on Thursday, with the result securing an 8-1 aggregate success.

Jose Mourinho's side have lost five of their last six in the league, though, to drop down into ninth position in the table, now nine points behind fourth-placed West Ham United.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham could line up on home soil.

POSS TOT XI vs. BUR

Out: Giovani Lo Celso (thigh)

Tottenham will again be unable to call upon Giovani Lo Celso this weekend due to a thigh problem, but Serge Aurier is available after missing the last four matches with a calf issue.

Aurier should return to the starting XI at right-back, while Toby Alderweireld could keep out Davinson Sanchez at the heart of the defence.

Tanguy Ndombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg should feature as the midfield two in a 4-2-3-1 formation, while the fact that Gareth Bale did not start against Wolfsberger suggests that the Welshman could feature in the XI here, joining Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in the final third of the field.

Erik Lamela started in the number 10 position against West Ham United last weekend, but Dele Alli could retain his spot from Thursday night, with the Englishman impressing in the Europa League contest.

Alli has only made six league appearances this term and has not started since the opening weekend of the campaign but is certainly in contention to make the XI against the Clarets.

Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn are also options in the final third, but Mourinho is expected to reward those that impressed in Thursday's clash with Wolfsberger.
