Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino explains Danny Rose snub

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino reveals why Danny Rose was not included in the squad that lost 2-0 to Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Danny Rose was not selected for the game against Arsenal due to fitness reasons.

The left-back has featured in three games over the past month since returning from a serious knee injury.

Prior to the international break, Rose played the entire 90 minutes of 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, but he was not included in the squad that lost 2-0 to Arsenal this afternoon.

"I made a technical decision on Danny Rose, after months out they need to get back up to fitness," Pochettino told Sky Sports News. "The situation is not an issue."

The Argentine also revealed that Harry Kane and Dele Alli were substituted in the final 15 minutes of the match as it was "not necessary to take risks".

Both players missed England's friendlies due to injury.
