Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Southampton

Spurs injury, suspension list vs. Southampton

Tottenham Hotspur head into their Premier League fixture with Southampton looking to boost their chances of achieving a top-four spot by the end of the season.

While Jose Mourinho watched his side twice come from behind to draw 2-2 with Norwich City on Saturday, it was regarded as two points dropped against the division's bottom team.

However, if the North London outfit can prevail on their visit to St Mary's, Mourinho will feel that the club have enjoyed a productive Christmas and New Year period.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their first contest in 2020.

Hugo Lloris

Status: Out Type of injury: Elbow Possible return date: Unknown

February has been pencilled in as the possible return month for Lloris, who has been sidelined since dislocating his elbow against Brighton & Hove Albion in October.

Ben Davies

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

Davies has been absent since sustaining an ankle injury in Mourinho's first game in charge against West Ham United. The Welshman may not return until at least the end of January.

Danny Rose

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscular Possible return date: Unknown

Rose sustained a muscular injury earlier this week, leading to the left-back missing out on the trip to Norwich. As it stands, it is unclear when the Englishman will make his return.

TOTTENHAM'S SUSPENSION LIST

Son Heung-min

Return date: January 5 (vs. Middlesbrough)

After his dismissal against Chelsea on December 22, Son remains absent for Spurs. However, the South Korea international should return against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.
