Inter Milan maintain 100% start, Villarreal net four, Torino grab late winner

A comprehensive report of the night's late Europa League results, including Inter Milan's 2-0 victory over Qarabag FK and Villarreal's 4-0 thrashing of Apollon Limassol.

Inter Milan continued their 100% start to the 2014/15 Europa League with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Qarabag FK of Azerbaijan at the San Siro tonight.

Danilo D'Ambrosio's 18th-minute piledriver opened the scoring before Mauro Icardi sealed the win late on as the Italian side extended their lead at the top of Group F.

The other tie in the group saw Saint-Etienne gain a 0-0 draw at home with the Russian outfit Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, who missed a first-half penalty.

The two British sides competing in the evening's late kickoffs fared differently in their respective home ties.

Tottenham Hotspur threw away a one-goal lead to draw 1-1 at home to Besiktas after Demba Ba scored a late penalty for the Turkish side.

North of the border, Kris Commons struck the only goal of the game in the sixth minute for Celtic as they edged past Dinamo Zagreb with a 1-0 win.

Tottenham trail the leaders of Group C - Asteras Tripolis - by two points, after the Greek side beat Partizan 2-0, while in Celtic's group Red Bull Salzburg edged past Astra Giurgiu 2-1.

There was drama in Group B, as Fabio Quagliarella scored a 94th-minute penalty to hand Torino a 1-0 win over Copenhagen, while Club Brugge join them at the top of the standings on four points following a 3-0 win against HJK Helsinki.
