Half-Time Report: Tottenham Hotspur lead Anzhi Makhachkala by a goal

Tottenham Hotspur lead Anzhi Makhachlaka 2-1 at half time thanks to a double from Roberto Soldado.

A goal from Ewerton just before half time has seen Anzhi Makhachkala reduce their deficit to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Two goals from Roberto Soldado had put the hosts ahead after 16 minutes in North London, with the first coming after just seven minutes.

The Spanish striker flicked the ball beyond Evgeny Pomazan from Gylfi Sigurdsson's near-post cross, ending his drought in front of goal.

A composed finish saw him double his tally on the quarter-hour mark, but Spurs were caught napping while defending a corner a minute before the break, allowing Ewerton to stab home.
