Puyol predicts "great" final

Former Spain captain Carles Puyol has claimed that the World Cup final between Argentina and Germany will be a "great game".

The two footballing powerhouses meet in Rio de Janeiro tonight (Sunday) looking to put their name on the famous trophy.

Puyol, 36, is due to carry the World Cup out inside the Maracana Stadium this evening alongside Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen.

"Little details always count in finals and I think it's going to be a great game. Germany have been playing really good football for quite a few years now, and they've been going far in competitions," the Barcelona legend told FIFA.com.

"As for Argentina, we were all going on about their fantastic attack at the start of the World Cup and pointed to their defence as the weak link, but they've proved to be a very solid side in which everyone does their bit."

Puyol was part of the Spain squad that won the tournament in South Africa four years ago.
