Spain boss Vicente del Bosque hints at David de Gea World Cup call-up

Del Bosque hints at De Gea inclusion

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque has insisted that Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is being considered as an option for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

The reigning champions will be without Barcelona shot-stopper Victor Valdes due to a knee injury, which will keep the 32-year-old out of action for seven months.

According to AS, when asked if De Gea is an option, Del Bosque said: "Of course we have him in mind - he is one of the potential candidates to be called. He has been with us several times already."

As well as De Gea, Real Madrid's Diego Lopez and on-loan Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina are possible contenders to join Iker Casillas in the squad.
