Billy Sharp unsure about long-term future

Billy Sharp admits that he would prefer to secure a permanent move away from Southampton in the summer.

Billy Sharp has admitted that he is unsure about where he will be playing his football next season.

The 27-year-old forward, who is currently on loan at Doncaster Rovers from Southampton, claims that he would prefer to secure a permanent move rather than continue to leave St Mary's Stadium for short periods.

"I'm not too sure what will happen, I'll just have to speak to Southampton to see what they want to do," Sharp told reporters.

"I don't want to go out on loan all the time but I'd rather go out on loan than sit and rot which is what I have been doing at Southampton.

"Hopefully I can tie something down permanently at the end of the season. I just feel in the last 12 months I've not played much football. I want to help Doncaster out and climb up the table."

Sharp joined Southampton from Doncaster in 2012.
