Southampton face the prospect of losing young star Tyler Dibling in the summer transfer window but they could be set to receive a significant fee upon his departure.

Southampton's Tyler Dibling could be at the centre of a transfer battle in the summer following reports that RB Leipzig have contacted the player's camp.

The Saints look destined to be relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season given they are currently in last place with just nine points after 29 matchweeks.

Boss Ivan Juric has come under scrutiny for his management of the team, with the club failing to find form following the dismissal of Russell Martin in December.

While Juric could be replaced in the summer, reports from journalist Florian Plettenberg suggest that winger Dibling may also be on the way out of the club, with RB Leipzig joining a number of sides interested in signing the winger in the summer.

How much could Dibling be sold for?

Reports from January suggested that Southampton would like to recoup a fee of £55m to sanction the 19-year-old's exit, but with interest from RB Leipzig, perhaps the Saints could demand an even greater amount.

The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have been credited with an interest in his signature, but so have other Premier League sides such as West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

It should be noted that Southampton were able to sell midfielder Romeo Lavia to Chelsea for nearly £60m in 2023-24, while they also offloaded Tino Livramento to Newcastle United for £40m in the same season despite being in the Championship at the time.

Could Southampton use the funds to rebuild?

Dibling would undoubtedly need to be replaced in attack given the winger has been one of the few Saints players to make a significant impact in the final third this term.

Tottenham's Tyrese Hall has been linked with a move to the south coast, and while he is a midfielder, the 19-year-old is highly creative and could help mitigate the loss of Dibling's attacking influence.

Elsewhere, centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis is reportedly admired and could be one of several players to head for the exit doors, meaning the Saints face the prospect of having to make numerous additions in the summer.

Though Southampton would likely prefer to keep Dibling at St Mary's, they are in a strong position from which to demand a sizeable fee that could help the club rebuild and push for promotion in 2025-26.
