Southampton striker Billy Sharp believes that his team can seal their promotion to the Premier League this weekend.

Southampton striker Billy Sharp has admitted he is confident that his team can clinch promotion to the Premier League this weekend.

Second-placed Saints know that a win at Middlesbrough on Saturday will see the club rise back to the top flight for the first time since 2005.

"If we win on Saturday, we've done it - and for myself and a lot of the players here who have never played in the Premier League before, it would be a dream," said Sharp.

"It will be a tough game at Middlesbrough because they need two wins to stand a chance of making the play-offs, but we are confident we can go up there and get the job done."

Reading secured their promotion to the Premier League on Tuesday night with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
