Graziano Pelle has admitted that he must work to improve after failing to score in his first two Premier League outings for Southampton.
The striker joined the Saints during the summer after impressing in the Eredivisie with 50 goals in 57 appearances for Feyenoord.
However, the 29-year-old told the Daily Echo: "I knew already that the Premier League would be tough. I have to do more because I expect more from myself.
"Many players have arrived and already it is the beginning of the season. But we are working every day, every week, to try and find a good connection.
"We need to win the games now. We're playing well but we're not getting the points."
Southampton play West Ham United on Saturday.
