Sivasspor vs. Konyaspor - prediction, team news, lineups

Aiming to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat, Sivasspor welcome Konyaspor to Yeni 4 Eylul Stadyumu on Tuesday in round 36 of the 2022-23 Turkish Super Lig season.

The away side, on the other hand, make the trip to Sivas looking to continue their recent upturn in form which has seen them win three of their last four matches.

Match preview

Sivasspor were knocked out from the semi-finals of the Turkish Cup with a second-leg 3-0 defeat against Fenerbahce at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Wednesday.

Off the back of a relatively drab first 45 minutes, second-half goals from Ferdi Kadioglu, Michy Batshuayi and Joshua King put Riza Calimbay's men to the sword.

Prior to that, the Braves fell to a 2-0 loss against Galatasaray and have now dropped down to 14th in the Turkish Super Lig table, three points clear of the drop zone.

Up next is the challenge of an opposing outfit who have only come out on top in one of the last nine meetings between the teams dating back to 2018.

In the first of two straight matches on home turf to conclude the season, Tuesday's hosts set out to potentially preserve their top-flight status with all three points here.

Konyaspor were far too strong for Alanyaspor as they claimed a 3-0 victory when the teams faced off at the Kirbiyik Holding Stadium two Tuesdays ago.

Two goals from Alejandro Pozuelo either side of Soner Dikmen's strike got the job done for Aleksandar Stanojevic's in a largely one-sided affair.

As a result, the Anatolian Eagles have moved up to seventh place in the standings and are all but guaranteed to secure a top-half finish heading into the final knockings of the campaign.

Currently on a run of four wins and a draw from five matches on the road leading up to Tuesday's affair, the away side will fancy themselves to come away with a positive result.

Team News

Turkish duo Ziya Erdal and Murat Paluli are currently sidelined with muscle injuries, ruling them out of contention for Sivasspor in this one.

Max Gradel is a doubt for Tuesday's contest after he was forced off with an injury scare just 37 minutes into the hosts' defeat to Fenerbahce last time out.

This could see Ahmed Musa handed a rare recall to the lineup for what would be only a fifth starting appearance of the season for the Nigerian attacker.

Endri Cekici has missed the last four games with a damaged foot, while Muhammet Demir also misses out for Konyaspor due to a knee problem.

Having failed to feature since late February, 28-year-old Uche Ikpeazu is still facing an extended spell out of action through a muscle injury.

Sivasspor possible starting lineup:

Vural; Yalcin, Goutas, Osmanpasa, Ciftci; Cofie, Charisis, Ulvestad; Saiz, Musa, James

Konyaspor possible starting lineup:

Sehic; Guilherme, Calvo, Demirbag, Karayel; Bouchalakis, Dikmen; Moreno, Pozuelo, Michalak; Emreli

We say: Sivasspor 0-1 Konyaspor

Having struggled to find the back of the net of late, Sivasspor are faced with the uphill task of getting past a Konyaspor side who are currently flying on the road. We are tipping the away side to get the job done, albeit by only a narrow margin.
