Stevie May wants to stay at Sheffield Wednesday

Stevie May says that he wants to fight for his place in the Sheffield Wednesday starting lineup amid interest to take him back to Scotland.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Stevie May has insisted that he does want to remain with the Owls and fight for his place in the team amid interest from clubs in Scotland.

The 22-year-old joined Wednesday from St Johnstone last summer and went on to endure a season in and out of the starting XI, scoring seven goals in 42 appearances.

May admitted to The Star that there were "ups and downs" in his first season and that he is fully focused on the Championship season ahead.

"I'm focused on one thing and that's getting into the Sheffield Wednesday first eleven on the first day of the season and progressing from there," said May. "That is all I have got on my mind."

Rangers and Aberdeen have both been linked with a move for May this summer.
