Dave Jones: 'Sheffield Wednesday earned hard-fought point'

Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Jones says that his team deserved a point from their game with Middlesbrough this afternoon.

Dave Jones has said that Sheffield Wednesday earned a "hard-fought point" from their 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium this afternoon.

Michail Antonio gave the Owls the lead in the first half before Mustapha Carayol found an equaliser after the break.

The manager told the club's official website: "It was a hard-fought point and one that we were really good value for. To have come away with nothing from a game like that would have been harsh.

"You could say it was a game of two halves. I thought we were absolutely magnificent in the first half and after the break the onus was on the home side to attack and they did that.

"But we defended really well, we were solid and dogged. We had our chances too and might have won it at the end. But a point was a fair result and that's three games unbeaten and something we need to build on."

Wednesday sit 21st in the Championship table.
