Jermaine Johnson extends Hillsborough stay for another year

Johnson extends Wednesday stay

Sheffield Wednesday's Jermaine Johnson has agreed to extend his stay at the club, signing a new contract to keep him at Hillsborough for a further season.

Johnson joined Wednesday from Bradford City for £250,000 in 2007 and has gone on to make 163 league appearances, and the Jamaican has revealed his delight at his new deal.

"I'm delighted to be staying at Sheffield Wednesday and I want to help the club do well in the Championship," Johnson told the club's official website.

"There is no limit to where we could go and I want to be a part of it.

"Now I want to be successful in the Championship and I know we can achieve good things here."

The Owls won promotion back to the Championship on the last day of last season.
