Half-Time Report: Sheffield Wednesday take two-goal lead

Sheffield Wednesday lead 2-0 at half time in their Championship game against Middlesbrough this afternoon.

Sheffield Wednesday have a 2-0 lead at half time at Hillsborough in their Championship game against Middlesbrough.

The Owls were attacking from the first minute, with Jermaine Johnson attempting to find the target from outside the box before Leroy Lita was flagged offside while pushing towards the box.

The hosts got their breakthrough in the eighth minute when Steve Howard blasted the ball past Jason Steele from outside the box.

Johnson and Seyi Olofinjana both looked to double the lead for Wednesday, but it was Lita who found the back of the net in the 29th minute, heading in from a Lewis Buxton corner.

The result would be enough to keep Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship for another season.
