Sheffield United first-team coach Andy Garner has confirmed that the club are hoping to add new players during the emergency loan window.
The Blades are looking for new additions to their squad due to injuries sustained by several first-team players.
Garner has revealed that manager Nigel Clough is in discussions with a target, but he would not reveal the identity of the player.
"The manager has been talking to someone, but there are always things to iron out so we'll see what happens," Garner told Sky Sports News.
"There are obviously people we are aware of and who we know."
United face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday.
