Stevenage boss confident of playoff success

Stevenage manager Gary Smith believes that his team remain "in the game well and truly" following their first-leg home goalless draw with Sheffield United in the League One playoffs.

The Hertfordshire side now need to achieve a positive result at Bramall Lane on Monday if they are to progress to the Wembley promotion showdown on May 26.

"Of course [we can win it], why not? We scored two goals up there two weeks ago," Smith told Sky Sports News.

"The emphasis is on Sheffield now. Like I said, they'll feel like they're in the box seat but we've scored two goals [at Bramall Lane]. We've played well.

"It'll be an atmosphere where they'll be under pressure and if we can get a goal early on - it's half time - we're in the game well and truly."

Sixth-placed Stevenage had finished 17 points behind United in the League One table.
